    What can I expect from my storage container?

    A clean, dry, secure unit with round-the-clock access, exactly what it says on the tin.

    Your unit sits behind electric security gates on a CCTV-monitored site. You provide your own padlock, so only you have access. Drive up whenever you need to load or unload, day, night, or weekend. Every unit is weather-sealed and checked regularly to keep your belongings in the same condition you left them.

    What are your hiring terms?

    We offer a rolling monthly contract with 21 days cancellation notice, no long-term commitment required.

    There is no deposit. You can book up to one month in advance and cancel at any time by giving 21 days notice in writing. Our billing runs on a 28-day cycle, so if you cancel mid-cycle you retain access until the end of that paid period.

    How much do your units cost?

    Our units start from £20 per week, no deposit required.

    We offer three sizes to suit different needs, from compact units for students and small storage right up to large units that can hold the full contents of a home. View your price and check availability online.

    All units come with a rolling monthly contract, 7am to 10pm access 7 days a week, drive-up convenience and 24/7 CCTV.

    What am I allowed to store?

    You’re free to store your belongings, tools or stock as you wish.

    However, perishable goods are prohibited, along with many items you would expect to be restricted, such as firearms, hazardous materials, or stolen goods.

    Do I need insurance for my personal storage?

    Yes. All customers require contents protection for their stored goods when using our self-storage facility.

    Our Self Storage Agreement requires you to accept our contents protection cover or provide proof of your own insurance.

    What ID do you require?

    Your security is important to us. That’s why you’ll need to supply photo ID (e.g. driving licence or passport) and proof of address (e.g. utility bill no more than 3 months old identifying you as the legal occupant).

    This way, we can ensure that everyone using our facilities is exactly who they say they are.

    How do I move in?

    All details will be provided with your booking confirmation.

    For extra security, you will provide your own padlock. This means that once your storage is under your control, you will be the only person with access. Even Spare Space cannot get in!

    Can I switch to a larger or smaller unit?

    It’s your storage, so as long as units are available, you’re free to upsize or downsize as you wish.

    Just get in touch and we’ll make all the arrangements for you.

    Where do I park?

    Free on-site parking is available directly in front of your storage unit, no time limit.

    The site is designed for drive-up access, so you can pull up alongside your unit to load and unload without carrying items across a car park. There is space for vans and small lorries as well as standard cars.

    What do I need to do when I move out?

    Give us 21 days written notice by email, confirming the date you will vacate.

    Our billing runs on a 28-day cycle and payments are not pro-rated. If your billing date falls within your notice period, you will be charged for the full 28-day period but you will have paid access to your unit until the end of that cycle.

    By your vacate date, your unit must be completely empty and left clean and tidy. Please ensure you remove your padlock on the day.

    What are your opening hours?

    The facility is open 7am to 10pm, 7 days a week as standard. 24/7 access is available as a monthly add-on.

    Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm. If you need to reach us outside those times, call 01902 912021 or email info@sparespace.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Is there anyone on site to help me unload my stuff?

    There is no staffed unloading service on site, but we can point you in the right direction.

    We keep a list of trusted local removal and man-and-van companies who can help you get your belongings to us. Just ask when you book and we will send you their details. The drive-up layout means that once you arrive, loading directly into your unit is straightforward with no lifts or corridors to navigate.

    Do you offer packaging?

    We do not sell packaging materials on site.

    We recommend picking up boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape from a local removal supplier or online before your move-in day. If you need advice on how to pack a unit efficiently to make the most of your space, our team is happy to help, just give us a call on 01902 912021.

    How secure is the site?

    The site is located behind two electric gates with access codes required to gain entry.

    We also have 24/7 CCTV monitoring to ensure your belongings stay safe.

    Is there a deposit required?

    No deposit is required, you just pay for your first billing period when you book.

    We keep things simple. There are no setup fees, no admin charges, and no money held against your unit. When you are ready to move out, you give us 21 days written notice and that is it. Nothing to claim back.

    Do you offer 24/7 access?

    Standard access is 7am to 10pm daily. 24/7 round-the-clock access is available as a monthly add-on, just ask when you book.

    You will receive your own unique access code for the electric gate when you move in. The site is CCTV-monitored at all times regardless of which access plan you are on.

    What size unit do I need?

    As a rough guide: 20 sq ft fits a van-load of boxes, 40 sq ft suits a one-bed flat, and 160 sq ft holds a 3–4 bedroom house.

    Do you offer business storage?

    Yes, we work with tradespeople, sole traders, and small businesses across the local area.

    Our units are popular for storing tools, seasonal stock, display materials, and equipment between jobs. Drive-up access means you can load your van directly from your unit without carrying items through a building. Rolling monthly contracts mean you can scale up or down as your business needs change. There is no VAT charged on storage.

    How do I pay?

    Payment is taken automatically every 28 days by direct debit or card.

    You set up your payment method when you book online. After your first payment, billing runs automatically on a 28-day cycle so there is nothing to remember. If you ever have a question about your account or a payment, call us on 01902 912021 or email info@sparespace.co.uk.

    Can someone else access my unit?

    Yes, you can authorise another person to access your unit by letting us know in advance.

    We will need their name and photo ID before granting access. This is useful if you are having items delivered on your behalf or need a family member or colleague to collect something. For security, only people you have explicitly named on your account will be permitted entry, no exceptions.

    We are on Heath Mill Road in Wombourne, right next to the Sainsburys.

    The full address is 3 Heath Mill Road, Wombourne, Wolverhampton, WV5 8AN. We are easy to find and there is free on-site parking when you arrive. If you get lost, call us on 01902 912021 and we will talk you in.

    Is there a minimum contract length?

    The minimum term is 4 weeks on a standard contract.

    After that, you stay on a rolling 28-day basis and can give 21 days written notice to leave at any time. Some promotional offers have their own minimum terms, so check the details when you book. There is no penalty for leaving once your notice period is complete.

    What if I lose my access code?

    If you lose your access code, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you.

    Call us on 01902 912021 or email info@sparespace.co.uk. As for your padlock, because you supply and keep your own padlock and key, that stays with you. If you ever lose your padlock key, a locksmith will be needed to remove it, which is the tenant's responsibility.

    Are your units climate controlled or heated?

    No, our units are not climate controlled or heated.

    They are weather-sealed and kept clean and dry, which suits the vast majority of household and business storage. If you are storing items that are sensitive to temperature changes, such as fine wine, musical instruments, or certain electronics, we would recommend wrapping them carefully or speaking to us before booking so we can advise on the best approach.
